I am getting ready for the holidays and will be heading out to see my family in the north woods this week. Don’t forget, the Deer Grove Leisure Center is open Thanksgiving morning, 7am-12pm (registration is closed) and the facility will be open on Friday, November 29th, 6am-6pm (registration 9am-12pm) for those who want to work off some of your turkey dinner. Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone!

Holiday Facility Closing and New Hours Announcement!
The Deer Grove Leisure Center will be closed Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd. The splash pad will be open 11am-6pm and White Pines will be open for play, so make your tee time and stop by the grill for a bite to eat.
The Deer Grove Leisure Center and Fitness Center new fall hours begin September 3rd.
New hours: Monday through Friday 6am-10pm and Saturdays & Sundays, 7am-5pm.

Splash pad update! The splash pad will be open 3:30-7 pm on Monday-Friday, through September 13! Cool off in the splash pad after school as the weather heats up! These extended hours are in addition to the splash pad being open weekends and Labor Day, 11 am – 6 pm through September 15. Weather permitting. A 2013 Water Park season pass can be used for splash pad only admission or there is a daily fee of $2 resident / $3 non-resident for all ages.

At last Wednesday’s board meeting, Dawn Hach, was sworn in as interim Bensenville Park District Commissioner. Dawn will fill the vacant term ending April, 2015.

News Flash! Make sure to enjoy last splashes at the Bensenville Water Park this weekend, Saturday and Sunday, 11am to 8pm. Because of the anticipated heat spell, Bensenville Park District has decided to open up the splash pad August 19 through 23 (Monday-Friday), 3:30-7pm! Cool off in the splash pad after school as the weather heats up! These extended hours are in addition to the splash pad being open weekends and Labor Day, 11am – 6pm through September 15.
I love Lunch Bunch and Bingo. If I am lucky, I get to eat the leftovers. Today’s menu was grilled corn-on-the-cob, baked beans, potato salad and a pork sandwich. Ymmmm.
We are getting ready for the last Movies in the Park event for this summer. I am looking forward to The Avengers this Friday night at Redmond Park. My job is to make sure there is plenty of popcorn – no pressure .
