A Call For Volunteers
This is our charge…as we look toward the necessary stewardship of Fischer Farm, our native and prairie restoration areas, and even our neighborhood parks. While we are committed to bringing our residents the high level of services and quality parks, we also realize that we cannot do it without the help of individuals and school, civic, and neighborhood groups to help us take our parks, and even this Park District, to the next level. We don’t need two hands, but rather hundreds of hands, as we begin to develop a “volunteer corps” that will assist the Park District in providing help we need.
The Fischer Farm operation is going to need help with new farm animals, historic preservation and tours, maintenance in and around the homestead, gardening expertise, and providing educational programs. We also have several sites that have been restored with native prairie plants, grasses, and wildflowers that need to be managed with enthusiasm and expertise. Or, you can be a part of the fun by helping out at our many special events or programs.
So, this IS our “Call for Volunteers”, as we look to develop a strong “volunteer corps” for the Bensenville Park District that will truly help set us apart from neighboring communities. We want to hear from you this fall as we prepare for some current and future projects in each of these areas of our operation. I look forward to hearing from many of you and working side-by-side as we move forward.
