Youth Classes & Programs
Bensenville Park District offers a variety of classes for children each season. Most classes are held at Deer Grove Leisure Center. Below is just a sampling of the classes we offer.

Kids Karate Club
This exciting program is designed specifically for children ages 4-14. This class teaches martial arts, public safety, awareness and respect. It also builds self-esteem and confidence with a strong emphasis on family involvement. Most of all, it is safe and fun. Testing, and belt advancement and tournaments are optional and available at an additional fee. Uniforms are required. Uniform fees are $38 and they will be available for purchase at the first class. *No classes will be held June 28 and July 5. July 12th Beginner and Advanced classes will be combined. All kids will have class 6-7:30pm.

Summer Soccer Camps
With an innovative curriculum that develops skills, speed, and confidence in players of all abilities, these 5 day soccer camps provide boys and girls with the rare opportunity to receive proper training. In addition to teaching new skills and improving game performance, each camp provides lessons in character development, cultural education, and is the most fun your child can have learning the sport they love!

Recreational Soccer Free T-shirt!
Our mission is primarily devoted to the enjoyment and development of soccer players without the emphasis on travel or high-level competition. The purpose of recreational soccer is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport, and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game. A free soccer t-shirt will be given to each participant. Training days are Monday and Wednesday with game days on Saturday afternoons, 2-6pm. Class will not be held on July 4.

Youth Basketball League
Teams will consist of players formed based on the number of players that are registered. Players will learn basic fundamentals of the
game while keeping active in the sport they enjoy. Games will be played at the Deer Grove Leisure Center or at surrounding park districts. Practices begin the week of June 11. T-shirt uniforms will be given to all participants. No games will be played on July 4. The deadline for registration is June 6.

No yoga experience is required for this one day yoga retreat. Discover yoga by learning its history and practicing its moves. The first half of class focuses on the “why” of yoga. The second half of class practices the “how” of yoga. Look forward to learning how yoga increases flexibility, improves breathing, reduces injury, and just makes you feel good! Class will start indoors and finish outdoors. Please bring your own mat. Unlimited class passes and punch cards cannot be used for these classes. The entire family will have fun with yoga. Discover what yoga poses and nature have in common; some poses are named after animals. Learn how to use your “yoga breath” to make better posture and stronger bodies. The fee applies to a child and the parent/care-giver who must participate in the class with the child. Fee for extra sibling(s) is $5 for resident, $8 for non-resident. Unlimited class passes and punch cards cannot be used for these classes. Minimum class sizes apply; make sure to register early.

Healthy Eating Tips for Families
Families can work with a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to crack the code on what healthy looks like. This class covers healthy eating basics with family friendly menus and snack ideas.
